Leaks show full color front display

(Pocket-lint): GoPro could be targeting vloggers with an addition to its main line of cameras. The next Hero 9 could feature a front color screen.

Revealed in leaked renders shared by WinFuture, the new feature wouldn’t be the first time GoPro has considered adding a display on the front of its hardware to help its users see what they are doing in full color while filming themselves. It added a similar display to last year’s GoPro Max, a 360 camera that costs $ 500. In our review of the GoPro Max, we said it’s one of the most versatile cameras the company has released to date.

However, the Hero lineup is GoPro’s flagship series, and it’s cheaper too, making this rumored feature more exciting for users. The leaks suggest that the Hero 9’s front display will be the same size as the existing monochrome display offered by GoPro alongside its camera lenses. However, that shows status information such as frame rate, resolution, etc. The new full-color screen, however, will show you a vivid live feed while you’re filming.

Little else is known about the GoPro Hero 9, although it has been said that the Hero lineup possibly supports 5K with this year’s update.
