Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, a spiritual successor to JRPG’s classic ‘Suikoden’ series, launched on Kickstarter in July and quickly raised more than $ 1 million on its first day. By the end of the second day of the crowdfunding campaign, the game had raised $ 2.1 million. Now that the crowdfunding period is coming to an end, the project ends fully funded with a total of $ 4.5 million contributed.
Eiyuden Chronicle is being developed by Rabbit & Bear Studios, and the project is led by several key creators of the early Suikoden games. In terms of funding, the project was seeking just £ 400,000 of seed funding. However, ambitious goals have incentivized continued donations. When the campaign came to an end, the project had raised ¥ 481,621,841 (JPY), which translates to roughly $ 4.5 million or £ 3.41 million British pounds.
Due to these additional donations, the scope of the game has also grown, with several ambitious goals achieved. This extra money means the inclusion of additional features, such as New Game Plus, additional sound effects, new characters, new minigames, a theater system, a hero mode, additional missions, and more.
Currently, Eiyuden Chronicles is expected to continue development for another two years, before launching in late 2022. Sponsors can expect development updates to the game to be released over time, in addition to eventual access to the beta, according to the level to which you donated. .
KitGuru Says: Right behind Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity 2, Eiyduen Chronicles is among the largest crowd-funded RPGs to date. Now that many of the goals have been met, we just have to wait and let the developers continue their hard work in preparation for 2022.
