Sony is no stranger when it comes to smartphones. The company is known for its sophisticated and attractive designs. But in recent times, the company has lost its edge against other big companies like Samsung, Apple, OnePlus, etc. With the Xperia 5 ll, the Japanese giant will expect a better result.

Sony recently updated its Facebook page and YouTube channel with a teaser that read, “Xperia New Product Announcement.” The new product could well be its flagship, the Xperia 5 ll.

Design:

The leaked images suggest that the volume control buttons are on the left side, while the power button and shutter button are on the right side. A 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C charging port, and external speakers reach the bottom of the smartphone. A triple camera setup with a flashlight on the rear and a single front camera complete the overall package.

Specifications and software:

The Sony Xperia 5 ll is expected to come with a 6.1-inch full-HD + HDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The touch detection rate is said to be 240Hz. This combo should surely be a gamer’s delight. It is believed that Sony will continue to offer the smartphone with a 21: 9 aspect ratio, called CinemaWide in other terms.

The smartphone is claimed to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC processor along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM, which can be expanded via an external memory card. Also, the smartphone is said to support 5G.

Sony smartphones have always been outstanding performers when it comes to images. Therefore, Sony will try to continue its tradition with the Xperia 5 ll. From the leaked images, it appears that there are three cameras on the rear, branded Zeiss T *.

The main camera is said to be a 12MP camera, along with a 12MP 3x telephoto lens. A 12MP camera for ultra-wide shots is also on view. 4K HDR video recording up to 120fps combined with OIS and EIS is believed to be available. The front camera specification remains a mystery. The smartphone is kept alive thanks to a 4000 mAh battery with fast charging in place.

Launching:

If the reports are to be believed, apparently Sony will launch the smartphone on September 17, 2020 at 12:30 pm IST. However, there is no information on the price.
