According to a report, two key staff members left the Google Pixel division after an apparent disappointment with the way the Google Pixel 4 lineup turned out to be. Even during the development phase, the two key employees were unhappy with the majority of the specifications of Pixel 4 and 4 XL.
The two members are Mario Queiroz and Marc Levoy. The former has worked at Google since 2005 and has been a part of every phone launch since the first Nexus One in 2010. He also led the Pixel division from the start.
As for Mar Levoy, he is one of the main reasons why highly regarded Pixel cameras came to be. He is an expert in computer photography and left the firm in March.
The report says other staff members weren’t happy with the Pixel 4 family either, more specifically they didn’t like the battery’s capabilities. The general excitement of the crew before launch was remarkably low and the lack of enthusiasm from the main staff members was evident. And, reportedly, sales figures are even lower than those of Pixel 3, which was a particularly high benchmark.
