One of the few places in the world that remains apparently free of coronavirus has recorded its first case. The Lesotho government said on Wednesday that there is now a possibility that more cases will be recorded before the end of the week after the Health Ministry said it was awaiting the results of 301 cases in which tests were conducted and sent to neighboring South Africa. The small mountainous kingdom of southern Africa had enjoyed until Tuesday the only Covid-19 free country on the continent. But the enviable distinction evaporated with the government saying that a suspicious case had tested positive for 81 samples sent for analysis in South Africa on Saturday. The tests were for people returning from South Africa and parts of the Middle East. “On May 9, 2020, the Ministry [of Health] conducted 81 tests for Covid-19 of travelers from South Africa and Saudi Arabia, “a spokesman said Wednesday.
