Browns coach Kevin Stefanski can finally call Cleveland home.
After delaying the relocation of his family from Minnesota due to the coronavirus pandemic, Stefanski, his wife, and their young children made the trip to Ohio over the weekend.
“We did an 11-hour trip on Friday and we got through it,” he told ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt on Monday night. “I was proud of myself. It was interesting. The license plate game is difficult right now because there aren’t many cars on the road. But the kids were pretty good. Thank goodness for the iPads, and now I’m happy to be in Cleveland “
Stefanski spent 14 seasons as an assistant to the Vikings before being hired by the Browns in January.
During his introductory press conference, Stefanski said he knew about the divide between the east and west sides of Cleveland and was not sure where to live. He ended up settling in a western suburb.
Stefanski and his staff have been making daily Zoom calls during the team’s offseason program, which has been forced to go virtual due to the virus. On Monday, Cleveland rookies joined the meetings.
Stefanski believes that the sessions have worked well.
“The players, the youth, are a tough group, and I think they learn under these unique circumstances,” he said.
