Glasses box Star Mary Killen received criticism for impersonating Kim Jong-un’s sister during tonight’s episode (May 8).

In the final segment of the episode, professional critics of the series were shown news coverage of the alleged North Korean leader’s first public appearance after speculation that he had died.

In discussing the possibility that Kim Jong-un is truly dead, and that the images of his return are false, Mary suggested that her sister Kim Yo-jong will have to come up with a way to break the news and then succeed him as leader.

“I think what will happen is that if he is dead, and this is a fake video, then the sister will just have to put things in place for her to take charge,” he said.

Mary then proceeded to perform a rather awkward impersonation of Yo-jong, using a stereotypical Korean accent as she rolled her eyes back and shook her head.

“That’s a very good imitation, Mary,” said his partner Giles. “I’m not sure what the PC is like, but that’s an excellent imitation.”

Viewers certainly didn’t find it very PC, and many turned to Twitter to criticize Mary, as well as the show for leaving the impersonation in the final issue.

“Oh my gosh. Is that allowed, Mary?” One viewer tweeted, while another wrote, “I wonder if the editors of #Gogglebox had a debate over whether to include that last minute with Giles and Mary. Oh dear.”

Another added, “Wow. I just saw the end of #Gogglebox. I’m not sure that Kim Yo-jong’s impression of Mary should have been left.”
