The ministry said services at the six federal bus stations under its authority in the capital Addis Ababa will now resume. Measures include: union workers at the bus companies who are at the source line, such as drivers, their assistants and cashiers, must wear gloves and face masks at all times; transportation unions and law enforcement officials at bus stations must provide gloves and face masks; bus service providers must work with the managers of each bus station to spray the buses with disinfectants before shipment; During transport, all service providers must coordinate and cooperate with the relevant authorities to disseminate materials and public awareness messages about COVID-19; In addition to providing sanitary materials and personal protective equipment, such as gloves and face masks, transportation service providers must take appropriate measures to assess temperature; as well as strict compliance with all the regulations stipulated in Ethiopia’s State of Emergency COVID-19.

The ministry also urged the public to carefully follow measures during queues that will help stop the spread of the virus, such as proper physical distance, use of face masks, use of sanitary equipment to be provided at bus stations, such as hand wash. disinfectants, as well as guaranteeing the availability of sufficient air circulation inside the buses by opening the windows.
