Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has once again been doing his part amidst the UK coronavirus blockade, donating food packages to the elderly in his hometown.

Maguire was hailed by teammate Marcus Rashford on Wednesday after the boss coordinated the United team’s response to the Players Together NHS fund.

The fund was launched this week by Premier League players with the goal of donating millions of pounds to NHS charities to help fight the coronavirus pandemic.

But Maguire’s efforts have not ended there, as England’s great advocate has arranged to donate food packages full of essentials for people aged 70 and over in his hometown of Mossley, in South Yorkshire.

Maguire’s donations will also help support a couple of local businesses as parcels will be held at a store in Mossley and will be delivered by a fruit and vegetable company.

United’s employer praised the nation’s efforts to support the NHS after United announced a package of measures designed to help fight the coronavirus.

United has shipped 16 of the club’s ‘Foundation’ vehicles to the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Manchester Foundation Trust Charity.

The fleet has received more than 3,500 gifts for NHS personnel, including the unsung heroes of the hospital’s cleaning and backroom staff.

The first wave of donations was made by the club’s Foundation to local hospitals last week, while the vehicles were also put on hold with volunteer drivers available to support NHS messaging operations.

United has donated all of the 30,000 perishables stored in its Old Trafford stadium for use through the summer to staff of food banks, hospitals, and other local charities.

Old Trafford has been listed as a possible temporary blood donation center, and the club continues to offer NHS workers staying at Hotel Football free parking for as long as necessary.

Former United players Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, owners of the Hotel Football near Old Trafford and the Stock Exchange Hotel in central Manchester City, have allowed NHS staff to remain free of charge at both hotels during the coronavirus pandemic. .
