‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ update making major changes to the gas circle

Like most Battle Royale titles, Call of Duty: Warzone Gradually restricts the player’s movement within the open world map through an ever smaller circle. Get away from the safety of this circle, and some form of unpleasant element will rob you of your health and kill you. In the case of War zonePlayers are forced into the circle by a terrifying wall of gas.

While it’s possible to stay alive on this gas for short windows, it’s not exactly a place where want to stay. Similarly, you never want to be in a position where you are desperately just escaping the gas as it closes. On the one hand, it leaves you massively exposed to enemy teams that could be watching people like you. On the other hand, gas can occasionally move so fast that it’s almost impossible to get ahead of it, even if it’s going full speed.

The good news, or at least I hope it is good news, is that everything is about to change. In a blog post detailing the April 28 patch for the battle royale, developer Infinity Ward confirmed that the update will adjust “the speed and size of the circle in War zoneUnfortunately, it is not entirely clear how these adjustments will go.

The most likely scenario is that the update will slow down the circle a bit as it is currently able to progress at an alarming rate. It could also be that the developer intends to make each game’s starting circle a bit smaller, which could help streamline matches and allow gas to move more slowly between subsequent circles.

It’s certainly not as if the final circle could get smaller or more intense, is it? Whatever happens, we won’t have to wait long until we find out what happens to the live update tomorrow and everything. The update will also bring some new treats for Modern war, which includes a new master camouflage, Gunsmith customization, and a 24/7 Shoot the Ship playlist.

On top of all that, you can expect the usual tweaks and great solutions for both Modern war and War zone. Full patch notes will be available tomorrow once the update rolls out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC … but I imagine all eyes will be on War zoneThe gas circle and how the changes impact the battle royale.
