Good victory for Barça against Nàstic in the first pre-season friendly of the campaign. The goals of Dembélé, Griezmann and Coutinho gave them the victory and we look at some of the most striking details of the 90 minutes:
Dembélé finds the network after 342 days
Since scoring against Sevilla in October 2019, the Frenchman had not found the back of the net. In his defense, his last appearance as a Barça player was against Borussia Dortmund in November last year. However, the forward only took five minutes to put that right against Nàstic with a good shot from inside the area.
The signings look good
Pedri He played the first 45 minutes just behind the striker, but often falling to the right and showing glimpses of his undoubted talent. Trincão also impressed in the second 45 minutes from the right wing.
Coutinho scores on his return
Philippe Coutinho he’s back from his assignment at Bayern and appears to be in excellent shape. The Brazilian played the second half of the game in an offensive midfield position and scored from the point before almost adding another with an excellent effort from outside the area. Aleñá also returned from a loan and on his return from Real Betis he also looked in good shape in his 45 minutes on the field in the first half.
La Masía debuts
Apart from the debuts of Pedri and Trincão and those returning from the loan such as Aleñá and Coutinho, two La Masia players made their first team debuts: Iñaki Peña and Konrad de la Fuente. Both played the entire second half of the game against Nàstic and neither looked out of place in the first team. Peña kept a clean sheet, while Konrad was unlucky to have an excellent effort ruled out by a marginal offside decision.
First look at the Koeman style
The Barça coach used 22 different players with two separate XIs in each half, as he had announced before the game. In the field, Barça mounted a 4-2-3-1 formation with a lot of movement between the forwards, the full-backs pressing and a game of great intensity throughout the field.
