Established bosses for the dynasty behind Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid

Every time we have a Super Bowl winner with a young quarterback, we wonder if this is the beginning of a new dynasty.

For the past decade, we’ve questioned whether the next dynasty would come from Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, or Carson Wentz / Nick Foles and the Eagles. Now, we ask again with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Of the first three, only Wilson has returned to the Super Bowl, and his interception on the goal line kept him from winning two in a row. The failure of those teams to win another Super Bowl shows how difficult it is to be a dynasty in the NFL. Don’t be fooled by how easy Tom Brady and Bill Belichick made it seem.

The league has set obstacles to avoid dynasties from the salary cap to the last recruit and play a more difficult schedule. In addition, each team wants to eliminate the champion.

Still, the Chiefs feel they could win two or three more Super Bowls in the next five years.

It starts with the combination of quarterback and coach. Now that Brady and Belichick are divorced, there is no better in the NFL than Mahomes and Andy Reid. In three seasons, two as a starter, Mahomes has earned a league MVP and a Super Bowl MVP. It looks like he will be a great all-time player who can throw any pitch.

Reid is one of the best coaches in history. Only six men have more wins in the regular season than Reid’s 207. Everyone except Belichick, who is still active, is in the Hall of Fame.

Reid and Mahomes’ team has given the Chiefs an offense that adds up to many. They averaged 35.3 points per game in 2018 and 28.2 points per game last year when Mahomes missed two games.

Mahomes has just been awarded a $ 450 million 10-year contract extension that will eventually impact the salary cap, but is team friendly for the first few years. They also have a group of offensive skill players who are under contract for a few more years with Tyreek Hill (signed until 2022), Travis Kelce (2021), and Mecole Hardman (2022).

The Bosses will not be able to keep everyone. GM Brett Veach will have to recruit some defensive central players.

The Patriots overcame many problems on the list because they had Brady as a quarterback and Belichick as a coach. The Bosses will be able to do the same with Mahomes and Reid.
