Woof. Jon Lester did not have a great command last night, and if that happens to him in his days after speed, he runs the risk of giving up a lot of hard contact. And if it happens when he is against a particularly aggressive and powerful lineup, yes, then the damage can come quickly and be severe.
The White Sox did the maximum version of themselves last night, hitting 12 times, but hitting half as many homers:
The White Sox tonight played 6 home games against the Cubs.
That’s the most HR by both teams vs. the other in the history of the Crosstown Chicago rivalry (i.e., since interleague began).

Offensively, with the exception of relocating forced and aggravated bases laden situations, it was nothing for the Cubs. Looking at the lineup and the match against another bad lefty, I can not say that either of us was shocked. This was a terrible match-up for the Cubs, especially without Kris Bryant, especially without Steven Souza, and especially while Javy Báez is so off. I can not say why the White Sox Dallas Keuchel threw 114 pitches in a nine run, but still. He was very good.
Ball it up. Throw it away. Like an old and raggedy and smelly pair of socks.
Full box score.
