The latest news in the fight against COVID-19 is this test kit with great credit card. The BinaxNOW system still relies on examples of nasal swabs, but its maker says it can deliver results in 15 minutes and costs only $ 5. Abbott Laboratories developed the antigen test – which looks for proteins specific for the virus, but may be less accurate than slower PCR methods – in a format that more closely resembles a test strip for pregnancy.

Abbott's BinaxNOWâ ¢ COVID-19 Ag Card is a fast, reliable and affordable tool for detecting massively active coronavirus infections.

Abbott

The FDA has given it a permit for emergency use, and Abbott apparently plans to produce as many as 50 million tests a month. As for accuracy, it said that in trials his test showed a sensitivity of 97.1 percent (correct diagnosis of people who have the disease) and specificity of 98.5 percent (correctly excluded of people who do not have it).

NAVICAâ ¢ is a free complementary phone app that lets people view their BinaxNOW test results.

The other part of the setup is an app, which gives people with negative tests a QR code that can serve as a “digital health pass” for the types of meetings we currently avoid. The jury is still out on how well that will all work out.

TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer retires just three months after taking the job

That was fast.

In the spring of this year (after the pandemic began), Kevin Mayer was still an executive director at Disney, turning Disney + out to the masses. Since then he took the top job at TikTok and now, just three months later, he has been fired.

Of course, he saw no future where the presidential administration would focus on the video-sharing app and press for a sale of its U.S. operations. In a letter to staff, he mentioned that a resolution should come soon, but “the role I have applied for – including running TikTok worldwide – will look very different as a result.”
