“Empire” actor Bryshere Gray was arrested in Arizona on charges that he abused his wife, police said.
The Goodyear Police Department said Gray, 26, was booked on Saturday, KPNX-TV reported.
The woman had visible injuries when she called someone for help near Gray’s home in Goodyear’s suburb Phoenix, saying her husband had assaulted her, police said. According to authorities, she told the emergency services that Gray had strangled her and that they took her to a hospital.

Gray refused to leave his home when police arrived, but was arrested after SWAT and crisis negotiators responded, police said.
Gray, who played Hakeem Lyon on the Chicago-based television show, was detained in Chicago in 2019 after authorities said a temporary plaque did not match the 2014 Rolls-Royce he was driving. He was arrested on one count of misdemeanor registration and fined.
