Emmanuel Acho amps Joe Judge hate: 2-14 with ‘imbecilic’ plan

Add another to the list of former NFL players who think Giants head coach Joe Judge’s old-school coaching style is bananas.

Appearing on Fox Sports on Tuesday, former Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho jumped the way Judge Giants has practiced since training camps began last month. Acho called his tactics “stupid” and “imbecile,” Acho said the judge’s way is usually used on children.

“Giants fans, on behalf of everyone intelligent everywhere, I apologize for your 2-14 record this season,” said Acho, who was on the Giants’ training squad in 2013. “I have to go ahead and apologize. And it’s not your fault, Giants fans. It is not your fault that you have dedicated yourself to an organization that has hired a coach who employs imbecile practices.

‘I’m not sure if imbecile is a word, but the practices that Joe Judge employs are so dumb that imbecile is the only word that will fit. That’s the only word that will fit the crime. ”

Acho claimed that most professional athletes are “intrinsically motivated”, but that if they are not, they are extensively motivated for “money, fame, women.”

“All of those things work,” he said. “What does not work is motivation based on fear: ‘Hey, if you mess with it, you’ll have to crawl. When you mess up, wind currents run. ‘Those are tactics to use on children. ”

Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe, a three-time Super Bowl winner, took to Twitter on Monday to voice his opinion on the case after reports that judge let his players run his round to make mistakes round rampant.

“This will not end well,” he wrote.

“Never do that,” said former Patriots tight end Ben Watson, who played under Judge in New England last season before announcing his second retirement in March. “Be. Your. Even. There is only one [Bill Belichick]. ”

The Giants had their second in-pads practice on Tuesday and Judge not only coached star Saquon Barkley running hard for everyone, he also held a head-to-head, goal-line approach drill in which cornerback Corey Ballentine got rough. Ballentine ended the practice and Judge stood by his coaching style and use of that drill.
