Elvis’ grandson Benjamin Keough shot himself in the head

Lisa Marie Presley’s son Benjamin Keough put a shotgun to his mouth and pulled the trigger on his $ 1.8 million family home.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office ruled that the death of Elvis Presley’s grandson was suicide on Tuesday after Keough was found dead in the family’s luxurious home in Calabasas, California, on Sunday.

DailyMail.com has exclusively learned that Benjamin had locked himself in a bathroom on the five-bed, three-bath luxury property in the early hours of Sunday.

When the 27-year-old’s body was discovered by someone in the home, who then called 911 in response, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department agents found that Benjamin’s lifeless body collapsed in the toilet, in a chilling echo of the death of his famous grandfather, the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley.

And in a surprising turn of events, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office told DailyMail.com that an autopsy, completed on July 13, showed the cause of death as ‘intraoral shotgun wound’ and not a gunshot wound to the chest as previously reported.

The location of his suicide is horribly similar to the famous unseemly death of Benjamin Elvis’ grandfather ‘The King’ Presley almost 43 years ago.

On the morning of August 16, 1977, Elvis’s then-fiance, Ginger Alden, found him by the bathroom in the master suite bathroom on the second floor of his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee.

The singer for “ When It’s Time for You to Go ” did not respond, lying face down in a puddle of vomit, with his pants around his ankles.

It is widely understood that Elvis, who at just 42 was a bloated and faded version of his former self, had a heart attack while sitting on the toilet, most likely while trying too hard, before falling forward.

He was rushed to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, but doctors were unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead at 3.30 pm

While we may never know whether Benjamin, who bore a strange resemblance to Elvis,

Somehow he was paying a macabre tribute to his late grandfather by choosing a place for his death, the discovery will only cause more distress to the Presley family.

Benjamin’s grandmother, Priscilla, 75, married Elvis in 1967, but they divorced six years later. They only had one daughter, Lisa Marie, in 1968. Elvis died just nine years later.

Benjamin was the son of musician Danny Keough, who married Lisa Marie in 1988 and divorced her in 1994.

His mother, who has three other children, had previously spoken of his son’s similarity to his father Elvis, calling his resemblance “strange.”

“Ben is a lot like Elvis,” said Lisa Marie in a 2012 interview with CMT. ‘Everyone was grabbing him for a photo because it’s just weird. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed when I look at it. ‘

Elvis’s daughter married Michael Jackson, Nicholas Cage and finally in 2006 music producer Michael Lockwood, with whom he had twins.

Benjamin grew up with his mother and Lockwood in Calabasas.

Her mother’s last marriage ended in a bitter divorce. She applied for the division in 2016.

Neighbors said the couple now share custody of the twins, Finley and 11-year-old Harper Lockwood.

DailyMail.com revealed Monday that neighbors heard a woman scream “don’t do it” around 3.30 am Sunday morning. The woman was understood to be Benjamin’s girlfriend, Diana Pinto, and she was later heard to say that she feared that her mother, Lisa Marie, and the rest of her family would “blame” her for her death.

Neighbors said people were partying at the house at 1 a.m. and heard screaming around 3:30 a.m. They noted that police appeared at the house hours later around 6 a.m.

Pinto was interviewed by the police, and the neighbor explained, “She was pretty hysterical saying ‘I can’t believe it.’ She just kept cursing and saying, ‘I can’t believe it … I can’t believe he would do that to himself.’ ‘ .

“She said, ‘The family is going to hate me’ and ‘they are going to blame me.’ I think she felt guilty that it happened.”

The Sheriff’s Department released a statement Sunday saying Benjamin had died after suffering “a gunshot wound to the upper torso.”

The statement said officers were dispatched to the home at the gate guarded by the Calabasas Estates community around 6.30 a.m.

‘Upon arrival, they located the victim with a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, ” the statement said.

After news of the death surfaced, Lisa Marie’s rep told DailyMail.com: “ She is utterly heartbroken, inconsolable and more than devastated, but she tries to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and older daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.

Benjamin’s sister, actress and model Riley Keough, has received prominence from her famous family, starring in Magic Mike, Mad Max: Fury Road and the TV show Starz The Girlfriend Experience. But little was publicly known about her loneliest brother.

Riley, 31, told the British newspaper The Guardian that she and Benjamin had a mixed education, torn between her mother’s lavish and star-studded lifestyle and her father’s modest life.

‘I grew up very privileged with my mother, but my father did not live like this. And I think experiencing both sides has been helpful, ” Riley said in the 2017 interview. ‘My father had mattresses on the floor in his apartments. He lived in cabins and trailer parks. He just didn’t have much money.

“When I was about eight years old I said to him:” I want to grow up and be poor like you! I was eating a bowl of cereal. I didn’t realize how wildly offensive that was!
