Elon Musk said SpaceX and Tesla “provide direct assistance wherever possible” in Texas after millions of people were left in the dark and without heat after the electrical grid was submerged after a devastating explosion of winter weather.
On Twitter, Musk wrote that SpaceX is helping in South Texas while Tesla is helping in Central Texas, including rescuing cold-blooded turtles and providing electricity to a water purification plant.

However, Musk has urged his Twitter followers to tell companies how they can help others during this unprecedented time.
“Please let us know if we can be helpful in other ways,” he wrote.
The comments came after traders criticized the Electricity Reliability Council (ERCOT) for a state-wide blackout, which prompted millions to seek warmth amid prolonged freezing temperatures.
Musk tweeted that Texas power grid managers don’t earn “R” in the acronym.

Adding to the state’s woes, the weather threatens the drinking water system. Authorities ordered millions of people – a quarter of the country’s second-largest state’s population – to boil tap water before drinking it, due to the temperature structure and temperature damage.
