In a Twitter exchange with computer scientist Austin Howard, Musk, who funds a project called Neuralink that is developing a computer implanted in the brain, said the company’s device will eventually be able to stream music directly to one’s brain.

In another Twitter exchange earlier this month, a Twitter user, Pranay Pathole, asked Musk, “Can Neuralink be used to retrain the part of the brain that is responsible for causing addiction or depression?”

At this point, it’s hard to rule out what Neuralink can and cannot do, as the machine, a one-inch implant that is surgically inserted into a person’s brain by removing part of their skull, has only been publicly discussed once. .
