Ellen DeGeneres’ television show staff are reportedly delighted that the ‘toxic’ atmosphere behind the scenes has been exposed.
Those who work at The Ellen DeGeneres Show are believed to be mutually supportive as they are happy that their “toxic work environment” has been made public.
They are also happy that it has created the feeling that people can present their own thoughts about what they have experienced while working on the program.
Us Weekly has reported that a production-related source on the show has said: “They have been calling and texting about the story.”
“They love that the truth, which has been an open secret for years in the industry, is finally getting more interest.”
The 62-year-old talk show host has been affected by a number of claims that staff have been “intimidated” while working on her show.
Ten former employees of the show spoke to BuzzFeed and described how they dealt with racism, fear and intimidation while working on the series, which has picked up multiple Emmys over the years.
Former program staff members teamed up with a current employee to share the filth of the program, and said Ellen has employees who sign confidentiality agreements when they start working with her.
A source said: “You cannot say anything, even good things, even if you are fired, even years after you are gone.”
Executive producers Ed Glavin, Mary Connelly and Andy Lassner responded to the claims in a joint statement, saying they “have strived to create an open, safe and inclusive work environment” during the show’s 16 years.
They added: “We are truly heartbroken and sorry to hear that even one person in our production family has had a negative experience.”
The TV presenter is said to have had a difficult time reaching an agreement because he initially thought they were only sour grapes from a handful of people.
However, rumors that she was bad have skyrocketed as more people have turned up to tell her story.
“Ellen is at the end of her rope,” a source told US Weekly. “She thought this was all just sour grapes from a few enemies. But it’s not a passing thing, successes keep coming.”
Throughout the scandal, Ellen has been asking for support from his wife Portia.
They have been locked up together in their £ 22 million mansion during the isolation that Ellen compared to being in jail.
“Ellen is very grateful to have Portia in her life as a soul mate and a soundboard, but that doesn’t mean it was easy,” a second source told US Weekly.
