How DeGeneres.
In response to mounting accusations of a toxic work environment at Ellen DeGeneres’ eponymous talk show, Page Six has confirmed that the host is increasing perks for its employees. We are told that employees will receive increased paid time and a voluntary medical leave policy.
Executive producers Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly delivered the news on Monday, which we are told was what DeGeneres and the senior team felt strongly about adding, seeing as they produce more than 170 shows a year.
Clearly, the show “Ellen” is not entirely despite WarnerMedia’s ongoing research, as Lassner explained earlier.
The new benefit package, which also includes birthday off and paid time for medical appointments and family affairs, also comes after DeGeneres, 62, emotionally addressed her staff on Monday via Zoom on Monday and apologized for the behind-the-scenes incidents. She also admitted that she had no idea where the now infamous rule for no eye contact came from and encouraged employees to look after her.
Insiders told us that the new perks and a direct address from DeGeneres this week have improved morale on the set, as rehearsals for DeGeneres’ spinoff show “Ellen’s Game of Games” have resumed. The talk show team also began returning to work to wake up production offices and sound stages.
A separate source added that DeGeneres will be back next week and some staff are excited to “move forward” from the drama.
