Elisabeth Moss to Star in & Apple’s ‘Shining Girls’ Thriller Series Greenlit – Deadline

Apple has issued a serial order to Bright girls, a metaphysical thriller based on Lauren Beukes’ best-selling novel in 2013 The bright girls protagonist and executive producer of Elisabeth Moss, and executive produced by Appian Way by Leonardo DiCaprio. MRC Television is the studio.

The writer and creator Silka Luisa (Strange angel) will write the adaptation, executive production and act as showrunner.

The bright girls the book focuses on a Depression-era bum who must murder the “bright girls” to continue their travels.

Moss will play a Chicago reporter who survived a brutal assault only to find that her reality changes while hunting her attacker.

Moss will be executive producing through Love & Squalor Pictures, alongside Lindsey McManus. DiCaprio will be an executive producer through Appian Way alongside Jennifer Davisson. Beukes and Alan Page Arriaga will also serve as executive producers on the project.

We hear that Apple obtained the rights to Bright girls At the end of last year in a competitive situation with multiple bidders, with Moss and Appian Way already connected. The project has been in development since then.

Bright girls Follows Apple’s recently announced series direct order for The Shrink Next Door, a limited series of eight episodes from Civic Center Media in association with MRC Television starring Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd.

Moss stars in the award-winning The Maid’s Tale, which is heading to its fourth season on Hulu. She received the Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for her performance, as well as the best drama series, as an executive producer on the show. She is ready to star Run Rabbit Run at STX.
