EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – The El Paso Department of Public Health announced four new coronavirus deaths Friday morning.
The death toll now stands at 386 in El Paso County.
The latest victims include three men – one each in her 40s, 70s and 80s, along with a woman in her 80s; one of the men had no underlying conditions, officials said.
Daily new deaths have now been reported in El Paso County for more than a month – since July 19th.
The health department announced 88 new cases on Friday and 32 “delayed” positive results.
These retroactive positive results were provided by the state, which at the request of the city has managed several test sites in El Paso.
This is the seventh day in a row that week-old cases have been reported.
The number of known active cases dropped to 3,731 – far from the nearly 4,500 active cases reported just days ago.
El Paso has had 19,177 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic. Reported reports have exceeded 15,000 – although experts suggest that some recovering people may experience persistent health problems as a result of infection.
Hospitalizations increased somewhat to 166. There are 52 ICU patients with 37 on ventilators.
