Earl Thomas, Chuck Clark have “heated confrontation” at practice

Training camp practices usually involve players from different sides of the control line, who have been shaking and shaking and hitting and agitating each other other than not weeks. If teammates fight on the same side of the ball in August, something else could happen.

For the Ravens on Friday came a few players who play the same position.

Via Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Sun., safetys Earl Thomas and Chuck Clark had a “hot confrontation.” While Shaffer explained it, a sideline argument was late in the morning practice a little more than that, with Clark being held by teammates and Thomas clenching his fists. The situation later flashed back into practice, with cornerback Marlon Humphrey restricting Clark, and Clark was later left on the practice field.

Clark was scheduled to speak to reporters on Friday, but his video conference was canceled. ESPN.com’s Jamison Hensley reports that Thomas was sent home after the altercation.

“We’ll find out the details,” coach John Harbaugh said of the fracas. ‘It just took longer than it needed me to. You will have these things in training camp. I think your tempers will flare, for sure. It happens every training camp, especially right now, probably. But I do not like them when they expand so much and eat into our reps, and we will have to figure out why and make sure that does not happen. We need to keep an eye on the price, which is preparing for the Browns. ”

Jason LaCanfora and Ken Weinman of 105.7 de Fan in Baltimore later said that “there is emerging frustrationAmong the defensive backs of the team regarding Thomas. There are issues, they said, with Thomas being “supportive and focused” and “not freelancing.” Also, some veterans think third-year pro DeShon Elliott should get more reps in practice.

Regardless of the opinions of the other players, Thomas goes nowhere. His 2019 contract includes a fully guaranteed salary of $ 10 million by 2020, along with $ 15 million in signing bonus money still on the cap. However, it looks like pushbacks may start from the inside out, and it’s going to be interesting to see where it goes from here – especially if the instincts of the other Ravens players are evidenced by things that happen like the real games in 22 days start.
