Dwight Howard agrees with the Philadelphia 76ers on a one-year deal

Dwight Howard is signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, his agent, Charles Brisco, told ESPN.

Sources told ESPN’s Bobby Marks that the deal is for the retired 2.6 million exception.

Howard, 34, is considered one of the greatest men of his pay generation, averaging 16.7 points, 12.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.

In August 2019 he signed a one-year, $ 2.56 million deal with the Lakers, who returned to Los Angeles in 2013 after a tough departure.

Eight-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year, Howard appeared in an undisclosed role with the Lakers this past season, coming off all but two of his 69 games. In less than 19 minutes per game, Howard averaged 7.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks.

Despite playing a few minutes in the postseason, Howard started seven games and won his first NBA championship in his 16th season.

Prior to joining the Lakers, Howard appeared in only nine games for the Washington Wizards in the 2018-19 season, missing almost all seasons after undergoing spinal surgery. While Charlotte is healthy with the Hornets in 2017-18, Howard averages 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.
