CHICO, California Dutch Bros Coffee says one of his Chico employees tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday.
The chain said on July 3 that an employee at the Humboldt Avenue booth tested positive and was told to isolate himself.
Before obtaining positive results, the employee worked the night shifts on 06/28 and 06/29.
“We learned of the positive case on Friday 7/3 and immediately began closing procedures,” the network said in a statement. “As an added precaution, the location [underwent] a deep cleaning from a third party overnight. “
The chain said they are also working with public health officials to make sure their protocols meet and exceed expectations.
Since the start of the pandemic, Dutch Bros says they have taken the following steps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus:
- Forced increase in hand washing and disinfection
- Temporarily suspended the use of personal mugs in our drive-thrus
- Walk-ins and walk-ups temporarily closed to focus exclusively on serving through our windows
- It instituted a cashless payment system, eliminating unnecessary points of contact between clients and brokers.
- Mask policies instituted to align with updated CDC recommendations
