Durham County GOP Chairman: RNC will differ from DNC by showing evidence of success over the last 4 years

Charlotte, NC, is preparing to host the Republican National Convention, and Durham County GOP President Immanuel Jarvis told “Fox & Friends Weekend” that despite the coronavirus that originated in the original plans, the convention still has an important purpose for the party .

“I think our focus now is simply to make sure our president has four more years to continue the work he worked for,” he said. “I’m excited about that … The pump and the pagans are great, but the end result is that we have to elect our president for another four years.”

Jarvis said the RNC will reflect the achievements the Trump administration has made over the past four years and testimonies from Americans who have tackled pivotal moments and successes.

“Testimonies from people in terms of perhaps reducing crime in border states where illegal immigration has been curtailed because the wall has gone up,” he said. “Or testimonies from African-Americans who are now receiving subsidies to go to HBCUs, and they’re not under the pressure of college loans. Those are the type of testimonies I expect, and I think that’s what will be different. between the RNC and the DNC. “

The festival conventions, which are held every four years, have had their plans blown up by the coronavirus pandemic and had to adjust how they will take care of business. The GOP Convention will still have a footprint in Charlotte, NC, where a grand celebration was initially planned – six delegates from each state are set to travel to the city to take care of the party’s official business .

But because of the coronavirus and restrictions imposed by the state, it will not be the normal arrival of tens of thousands of supporters and activists who inject millions of dollars into the local economy.

Since this year has been “incredibly trying” for the American people in many ways, Jarvis said it is important that the RNC contributes to the message that we as Americans are resistant and will overcome hardship as a uniformed force.

“Regardless of what we go through, we are strongly together,” he said. ‘Black, white, male, female, or you are rich when you are poor. Together we can actually overcome this and come back even stronger than before. “
