Legendary and its partners funded three films heavily, but received no advanced warning of Warnermedia’s decision to release a hybrid. On December 3, Warner Bros. announced that it would enter HBO Max with its 2021 film Slate Cinemas – a decision that has received a response – ranging from support – from industry names including Christopher Nolan, AMC Adam Aaron and Villaneuve himself.
