The Ducks have added to their already historic offensive recruiting class as a top-tier receiver becomes the last to put his name on the Oregon Engagement List. Southaven (Miss.) Wide receiver Isaiah Brevard committed to the Ducks on July 4 with Oregon beating Ole Miss, Georgia and FSU for the Mississippi-based catcher.
The 6-foot-4-inch, 200-pound wideout had released a top 7 in May consisting of Baylor, Florida State, Georgia, Missouri, Oregon, Penn State and Texas A&M, but the Ducks won, landing the elite catcher on Saturday by the afternoon .
The prospect tweeted their engagement saying:
“First, I would like to thank God 14 for allowing me to play the game I love. I would like to thank my family, coaches and teachers for helping me in this process. I would like to thank all the schools that recruited me and gave me the opportunity to join to some amazing shows.
Thank you all, especially those who were by my side during this process. That being said, I would be finishing my education and academics for the three or four years at the University of Oregon. I am hungry, I am humble, I am here. I’m here Eugene let’s rock #ScoDucks’ # TakeFlight21 “
The Ducks’ Brevard recruitment was led by offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead. the The ducks hired former Mississippi state head coach Moorhead in January and Oregon immediately jumped to the top of the list for the catcher. Oregon offered just two days after Moorhead was officially hired by the Ducks, and the relationship between Brevard and Moorhead continued from the coach’s previous school. At the time of his offer, Brevard pointed out to 247Sports that Oregon was one of the schools he most wanted to visit and at that time was competing with Georgia and Ole Miss for their commitment.
In the industry-generated 247Sports composite rankings, Brevard is listed as the No. 140 and No. 25 wideout prospect for the 2021 class. Brevard is a four-star prospect in the composite ranking and a three-star prospect in the ranking of 247Sports. The prospect ran a 4.68-second, forty-yard dash at an Opening Regional in 2019. Brevard also posted a 4.34-second shuttle and a 31.10-inch vertical jump.
