Things got a little more meta: Actress Drew Barrymore “interviewed” her 7-year-old self in a new promotion for her talk show coming to CBS later this year.
Interacting with archival images of herself, the star of “The Santa Clarita Diet” spoke about her appearance in 1982 on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.” She sat down before the legendary presenter to update her younger self on her life and career, mainly because she now has two children and will star in her own syndicated daytime talk show.
The former child star appeared on “The Tonight Show” for her starring role in Steven Spielberg’s “ET” and let out a cry of excitement that hasn’t lived to this day. (Hence its use in the promotion).
