Former Twitch streamer and current hopeful YouTube guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm officially returned to livestreaming on Friday afternoon. More than 500,000 people have voted to hear the mustachioed booster tell his side of the highly publicized Twitch ban, which, he claims, he has no idea about yet.
“We have no idea yet,” he said at the start of the YouTube stream, before repeating this line a few times.
Polygon has contacted Twitch, but the livestreaming company reiterated its previous statement about taking “appropriate action” when a user “has violated” its guidelines and terms of service to the community. But as Beahm puts it, he’s still in the dark about what happened and why he’s been dropped from Amazon’s live streaming service.
“As for me, we did nothing to guarantee a ban, let alone how they were going to ban us,” he said. “No communication for, no reach, nothing.”
Notably, before the ban, Beahm had signed a multi-year deal to stay on Twitch. While figures were not released, Twitch probably paid good money to ensure that one of the most viewed artists remained on the platform. Beahm’s comments during the stream suggested that there may be some sort of legal motion regarding his contract.
“You’re talking about a heavy contract, a lot of money,” he said, noting that he needs to be careful about what he says about the ban situation. ‘There’s big money involved. That lets the legal professionals do what they have to do. ”
Viewers seemed happy that the vest-wearing entertainer was back, with many donations circulating when Beahm swore that this would be the last time he tackled the situation.
“My conscience, I feel so good,” he explained, before killing people who assumed he had done something wrong to get a ban.
“That’s your update,” he said. For part of the livestream, Beahm chose to watch the gameplay of other makers for titles such as the new kid-on-the-block battle royale, Fall Guys. He later played some Call of Duty: Warzone. He supported the opportunity by telling viewers about some upcoming brands with limited editions that they could pre-order for $ 30.
“Taxes were heavy this year,” he later added, noting that “for a second I thought I was in trouble.”
Update: Added mention of DrDisrespect’s gaming added to the livestream.
