Golden State Warriors striker Draymond Green pays the price for his words about Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.

The NBA announced Sunday that Green would be fined $ 50,000 for his comments about TNT’s Inside the NBA on Friday about getting Booker out of Phoenix.

“It’s not good for him, it’s not good for his career … I need my husband to go somewhere where he can play great basketball all the time and win,” Green said in the show Friday.

The Suns social media team did not let Green take the hook for his actions.

The team’s Twitter account posted a highlight by Devin Booker entitled “We have at least 50 (k) reasons why we love @DevinBook.”

Green’s comments raised eyebrows about the possibility of tampering, something the NBA has been trying to shrink since the start of the 2019-2020 season. The leagues also took a stricter stance on salary cap environment and free agency time rules.

Host Ernie Johnson asked Green if he was tampering with the comment. Green sat up for a while before saying “Maybe” and stammered for an explanation.

Phoenix is currently 5-0 in the NBA bubble as they face a playoff spot.

The Suns are eliminated Sunday, but will be considered scoreboard with a tight race for the eighth seed. The Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs are narrow for Phoenix in the standings and have a chance to put up a little distance with wins.
