Drake Bell denies allegations of abuse by his ex-girlfriend Melissa Lingafelt.
The 30-year-old artist, who goes by the name Jimi Ono, accused the 34-year-old actor of verbal and physical abuse in a video shared with TikTok on Wednesday, August 12th.
“I’ve never abused my ex-girlfriend or done so many of the other things that Melissa falsely claimed on her Tik Tok video,” Drake and Josh star said in a statement to E! News. “When our relationship ended – more than a decade ago – we unfortunately called each other horrible names, as often happens when couples break up. But that’s it.”
He then added, “Clearly Melissa still felt close enough to me last year that she was comfortable reaching out to ask me to give her financial support in a difficult time (which I did). I do not know if today’s behavior “is a kind of wrong desire for more money or attention. But I can and will not allow these offensive and defamatory accusations to go unchallenged and I will check my legal options.”
