Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell has denied allegations of abuse by ex-girlfriend Melissa Lingafelt. In a TikTok video, Lingafelt, an artist named Jimi Ono, accused the actor of verbal and physical abuse.
“I’ve never abused my ex-girlfriend or done so many of the other things that Melissa falsely claimed on her Tik Tok video,” Bell said in a statement released to People. ‘When our relationship ended – more than a decade ago – we unfortunately called each other horrible names, as often happens when couples break up. But that’s it. ”
The former added Drake and Josh star, “Sure, Melissa still felt close enough to me last year that she came out comfortably to ask me to give her financial support in a difficult time (which I did). I do not know if the behavior of today’s has started some sort of wrong after more money than attention. But I can and will not allow these offensive and defamatory accusations to run unintentionally and I check my legal options. ”
In her TikTok video, Lingafelt said she was 16 when she started dating Bell.
‘I’m moving with him, I’m singing,’ she said, showing a series of photos of her together. “Only a year ago, verbal abuse began. And when I say verbal abuse, imagine the worst type of verbal abuse you could ever imagine and that was me. “
“It then changed into physical – hitting, throwing, everything,” Lingafelt continued. ‘At the peak, he carried me down the stairs at our house in Los Feliz and my face hit every step of the way. I have photos of this. ”
Lingafelt did not show any photos with that statement.
“I hope this message reaches young girls, and that no one has to go through what I did. # 2020Survivor, ”Lingafelt wrote in a note accompanying the video.
