Twitch has banned Dr. Disrespect’s coil from the service, and this time it’s reported to be a permanent ban.
On Friday, June 26, a ban was delivered to Twitch transmitter Dr. Disrespect, real name Guy Beahm.
When Polygon sought comment, Twitch did not specify the reason it expelled Dr. Disrespect from the platform, but told the site that it takes “appropriate action” when it has evidence of community guidelines or violations of the Terms of Service.
“This applies to all streamers, regardless of status or importance in the community,” said a Twitch spokesperson.
According to esports reporter Rod Breslau, the ban is permanent and was not part of the recent wave of bans related to DMCA takedowns (thanks, Eurogamer).
He goes on to say that all of Dr. Disrespect’s Twitch subs have been reimbursed and the Discord association has been removed. Breslau also claims that reliable sources have trusted the reason for the ban, but “due to the importance and sensitivity around the issue,” Breslau is not comfortable disclosing what he was told.
Dr. Disrespect, one of Twitch’s biggest streamers, was previously banned in June 2019 after broadcasting live from a men’s room during E3 2019. Beahm left and entered a couple of different bathrooms and never left. to transmit.
The ban only lasted for a couple of weeks.
