Doug Pederson names five young Eagles players who stayed early in training camp

On Thursday, Doug Pederson received a classification at a training camp: Who are the young players who have stood out so far? Pederson volunteered five players.

“I think there are really different guys,” Pederson said. “We talked about Jalen [Reagor] just a little. Quez Watkins is another who has stood out as a receiver, John Hightower, these guys improve every day. [Michael] Jacquet as Corner has done some really, really fun things for us.

“I even think of some of our young linemen, I think of Jack Driscoll from the top of my head who came in and we put him in positions to go against Brandon Graham, against Vinny Curry, Josh Sweat, some of our D-ends start and did a great job there. “

WR Jalen Reagor: We already treated Reagor heavily, notably on Tuesday, after an exercise in which his rare athleticism is clearly visible.

WR John Hightower: Again, Hightower has been a pretty obvious standout at times, especially on Thursdays, when he had several highs for highs.

WR Quez Watkins: We did not mention Watkins that much, but he also had a strong start to camp, and it would not be surprising to me if Carson Wentz and the other Eagles quarterbacks have targeted him more than any other receiver in camp so far. , which shows at least some low level of confidence early on.

OT Jack Driscoll: In addition to Pederson mentioning Driscoll, Brandon Graham also referred to him as a good young player, although Graham called him “Jake”. Driscoll has looked good in 1-on-1s so far. On Friday we will see how he ends up in what is likely to be one of the more physical practices of camp.

CB Michael Jacquet: Doug normally throws an oddballer into the mix. This year it’s Jacquet. Maybe Doug is just putting some pressure on a man like Sidney Jones? Or maybe Doug is just trying to get a bunch of our writers to write about Jacquet to see if he can get the Packers to sign him, for his own amusement.
