Amazon today unveiled a radically redesigned પે 49.99 fourth-generation Echo Dot smart speaker that doesn’t look like any dot – instead, is shaped like a new dot, or maybe an orb. The new design is a significant departure from the look of the previous Echo Dots, which were shorter, absurd-like cylinders that looked like dots well.
If you can’t just go on board with a ball-shaped smart speaker but are in the market for a new dot, I have good news for you: Amazon still sells that dot-shaped third-generation echo dot. Amazon endorsed Edge That keeps the old dot in its lineup in part to provide an option for those who want to mount their dot on the wall. An Echo Flex, a small Echo speaker that plugs into a wall outlet, is another option.
And according to this writing, the third-gen dot is also the cheapest dot, even though it is one of those Amazon catalogs whose price is displayed. . 49.99 . 39.99, so I’m not sure if it will be around the cheapest price.
We are not yet ready to try out the orbital shaped dot, so we don’t know if the new model will be a better purchase than the dot shaped dot. But in his review of the third-generation Echo Dot, my colleague Dan Seifert found it to be surprisingly loud and rich for its compact size, so if you’re in the market for a small smart speaker right now, it might still be a good choice for you.
I forgot to mention a distinct advantage that its large dot-shaped dot is on top of its ball-like successor: it sits close inside the base shaped like Baby Yoda’s head. Seeing that, I don’t know why Amazon decided to change the whole design of the old dot.
