“At this very moment, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, will be joining us live,” proudly announced that Fox News’ Sean Hannity was at the top of his show as the last night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention launched.
Actually was past the bottom of the hour for the former Famous apprentice host showed up on the phone for what was a rumbling half-hour love-in. A meeting that provided Trump with ads to his social media followers to pump up the ratings he loves to quote:
Will be interviewed by @seanhannity tonight at 9pm Enjoy! @FoxNews
– Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) 21 August 2020
“We’ll get his attention on what I see as the worst infomercial on the face of the earth,” the primetime host went on to say about images of Trump at the top of the hour. “A lot of hatred” and a “ridiculous situation” is what poll POTUS finally said about the bits of DNC he allowed himself to watch during the week.
Initially, he ignored the roasting he received yesterday from his predecessor Barack Obama, a stilted Trump offloaded rather lame on his current rival Joe Biden.

“We are for law and order, we are for safety and security, and Biden is not,” said the race baiting 45th POTUS of the ex-VP who aims to be the 46th POTUS. “It’s just unbelievable. They talked to him about things no one would have thought possible and he is unable to fight back.”
While he is adamant that he will give Biden his acceptance speech tonight, the Obama-obsessed Trump could not long ignore the 44th POTUS.
“He was a terrible president, he was a very divisive person,” the current Oval Office resident said about 15 minutes into his heated conversation with Hannity. Then there were vague allegations of voter fraud and bragging about how well the stock market is doing when unemployment has been at its worst since the Great Depression of the 1930s AKA Trump 101.
Trump casually mentioned that the virtual GOP convention will be more live next week than the hybrid DNC. But then he turned to the Obamas again, accusing Michelle Obama of being full of “a lot of hate, a lot of anger” in her August 17 DNC speech that dragged him over the coals.
Back in the polls, the reelection campaign has pounded much of its hopes on setting Biden as a puppet of the so-called Deep State and “extremism,” which are two very different factions for everyone but Trump.
“This is going to be the most fraudulent election in history,” Trump proclaimed as he raged against post-a-vote in a time of recurring coronavirus cases and a potential second wave coming this fall. With a little apparent understanding of the implications, Trump said in an almost offhand manner that law enforcement at polling stations in November checks people’s IDs before they can vote.
With zero push-backs and even implicit encouragement from Hannity, Trump went bankrupt claiming that Biden never left Delaware during the coronavirus pandemic and took no questions from the media. “Something is happening, very strange,” Trump said, with no obvious irony.
Speaking about Foreign, with a brief mention of the public health crisis, Trump said he asked Obama if he ever met North Korean Kim Jong-un “before he went to war.” What war?
In a typically flattering way, Trump also told Hannity that he would treat California well, because Govin Gavin Newsom “treated me very well.”
Lots of criticism of Trump, Newsom made a refurbished stint at the DNC earlier on Thursday via what looked like an iPhone from a wildfire zone. It should be noted that the Democratic governor of the Golden State and Trump have a bit of a unique family connection. Newsom’s ex-wife and former San Francisco First Lady Kimberly Guilfoyle is engaged to Donald Trump Jr.
When Trump gave brief answers and snippets from his blunt speech to Hannity’s monologues, which were like questions, the lower third on the screen read editorially “President Trump On Biden’s Job-Killing Climate Agenda.” It should also be noted that the muted postage stamp large live feed of the Democratic convention that had played for some of Hannity’s show completely disappeared to be replaced by a headshot of Trump and a picture of a phone while the officials last night at FNC.
Unveiled to almost no one’s his teller program surprise yesterday, Trump’s call came after his best TV friend’s show on Thursday when CNN, MSNBC and good old C-Span all went live with the DNC at 9 PM ET , because they spent the past three nights.
The GOP bullet points, even before Trump called in, the highly-regarded Hannity took early potshots on the “always-forgotten, corrupt Joe Biden,” the ex-VP’s ‘sketchy’ son Hunter (expect his name to be much more will hear about the new week) and Barack Obama’s alleged “Barre Obama” media “psychological unbridled anger against Trump.”
The other cable news goers went full screen with the DNC’s short videos about their candidate, short speeches by Andrew Yang and others and today introduced moderator Julia Louis-Dreyfus. On the other hand, as we mentioned, FNC’s Hannity had reduced the virtual convention to a muted postage stamp at the bottom right of the screen. Sure, at least the convention of ‘hardcore Marxist left’ got visual airtime last night on FNC on FNC. The past three nights had seen the first hour of DNC’s self-described “unconventional convention” reduced to silent video on Hannity.
Then again, the Rupert Murdoch-owned outlet literally handed over the airwaves to parts of an anti-Biden ad shown by the Trump campaign at one point, which is a pretty standard game for FNC so far this election – like Trump’s appearance of tonight and new week at the GOP convention.
