It didn’t take long for rookie quarterback and former Alabama star Tua Tagovailoa to settle in his new digs with the Miami Dolphins. The fifth overall pick has settled on his first home as a pro-athlete, a modest, 5,200-square-foot venue in Davie, Fla., With six bedrooms and 4.5 baths that overlook a lake and have a swimming pool.
This was an easy purchase for Tagovailoa, who, according to Spotrac, signed a four-year contract worth $ 30.2 million with nearly $ 20 million of that total coming as a signing bonus. Tagovailoa will be the 25th highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, averaging $ 7.55 million a year over the life of the deal.
Tagovailoa impressed Miami teammates and coaching staff for the first time this week in full pads, with striking zip on his throws and showing no ill effects of a hip injury that ended his final season with the Crimson Tide prematurely. Tagovailoa fight for QB2 reps at the start of camp behind last year’s starter Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Tagovailoa said this week that he is working hard to learn the playbook and help put his team in the best position to succeed.
