Do you want a cheap Corvette C8? Buy the one that fell from a dealer’s elevator

The C8, which has only 3,419 miles on the odometer, now spends its days on a gravel lot waiting for its time to cross the auction block. We are not quite sure what happened in the past two months that led to the sports car sitting in Copart’s warehouse, but it is fair to assume that the Corvette was declared a total loss or perhaps a buyback due to damage that is occurring in a concessionaire

Immediately one will notice good bodily harm. On the passenger side only, both the front and rear fenders are slotted, as are the door and rocker panel. The right side appears to have suffered some minor damage as well. The front part of the car is not excluded: a misaligned bumper is noticed, and also the headlights that are on the ground. There is also what appears to be an AC condenser in the rear storage compartment.

The auction listing says that the car can still run and drive, so we expect any mechanical damage to be limited since most of the engine components are located in the rear of the car.

This is not the first Corvette C8 we have seen at auction. Still, it hurts to see such a new and certainly stellar car in this condition, especially a first-year model where production is extremely limited due to the closure of COVID-related plants. We wouldn’t be surprised if limited production only helps keep the car auction price high.
