Divonta Smith reacted to Alabama facing Notre Dame in the playoffs

Devonta Smith has a tunnel vision for the Alabama Crimson Tide. No. 1 Alabama prepares to take on No. 4 Notre Dame in the College Ledge Football Foot Playoff semifinals on January 1st.

Smith will be the first wide receiver to win the Hizman Trophy since Desmond Howard, but he has only focused on the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame can find a way to stop him if he gets a chance to win.

Speaking on the Paul Finbum show, Smith outlined his excitement for playing Notre Dame and the opportunity to return to the national championship.

“I was very excited,” Smith said on the Paul Finnum show. “I only have one more game guaranteed, so it would be best to play two more games. Just shopping in really everything and going for a walk there every day, is what we have to do to continue our journey. ”

Alabama is 11-0 this year and pretty much all rolling. Smith said he won’t think about the entire season until the future gets better.

“We won’t think about it until we’ve completed everything we’ve done and mapped out,” Smith said.

During the season, Smith drafted his case in the first round in April 2021. In 11 games, Smith averaged 98 catches, 1,511 yards, 17 touchdowns and 15.4 yards per catch.

In his career, Smith has 216 catches, 3,620 yards, 40 touchdowns and 16.8 yards per catch. One of those touchdowns was the touchdown that won the game in Alabama’s national championship win against Georgia.

Former Florida wide receiver and current SEC analyst Chris Daring believes Alabama cannot be beaten at this rate. After watching the SEC Championship, Doring basically thinks Alabama is the shoe for the national title.

He also said he needed to be perfect in the other team to beat Alabama.

“I don’t know if anyone has a mix of offense and defense capable of doing that,” Durring said at the SEC Football to Lone Finale. “I felt that the defense of Notre Dame was legitimate. They have been found to be cheating today. Looking at what you do in Ohio State in those small sample sizes, I don’t think they’re offensive enough. Justin Fields He hasn’t been great this season, he’s turned football around. Texas A&M are probably the team that is the most complete and they beat 28 at the start of the season.

“You have to be perfect if you beat Alabama. There were times when a couple stuck to the Florida defense in the third quarter. There were times when the crime seemed really good, but when you have empty assets you don’t take advantage of those opportunities at other times. You get a turnover and you spin it straight back. You get some third down stops and you get a penalty that gives Alabama a second chance. If you are going to play this team and hope to beat them then you have to be perfect. Florida did a really good job of staying close tonight but it wasn’t perfect at the end of the day. “
