Disney has no Fox left to give because they are renaming TV studio to 20th Television

The recently acquired 20th century TV studio Fox is the latest to drop the “Fox” name, with the company announcing today that it will re-transfer the studio to just 20th Television, as part of a bigger rebrand for all Disney TVs.

In addition, Fox 21 Television Studios is renamed Touchstone Television (a TV brand that Disney stopped using in 2007) because the company is working to remove the last traces of the Fox name from its assets. Disney is also using the rebranding to merge ABC Studios and its subsidiary ABC Signature under the banner of ABC Signature.

New logos and end cards will appear this fall on TV shows, including on episodes of The Simpsons, Family man, American father, en Bob’s Burgers. Existing episodes about streaming and digital libraries will continue the original logos.

The news comes after Disney introduced a similar name change for 20th-century Fox and Fox Searchlight Pictures movie studios earlier this year, though these more sensible names simply fell to “Fox” to become 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures. . Why Disney decided to go with 20th television instead of the more aesthetically matching “20th century television”, we may never know. (Honestly, both names are pretty outdated, considering it’s the 21st century and that’s been around for a while, but I’m hiding it.)

“Fox” cut from its acquired brands was a requirement of the deal that saw Disney win control of 21st Century Fox’s assets last year, according to Variation. The goal is to avoid confusion between the shares owned by Disney of the former company and the ‘New Fox’, which includes Fox Sports, Fox Business, and the controversial Fox News, as well as ownership of the broadcaster TV TV- channel.
