On a recent episode of The Keepin ‘The 100 podcast, former WCW star Disco Inferno opened up about the match between Dominik and Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam. The match will be Dominik’s in-ring debut in WWE.
In his comments, Disco Inferno said that others in the WWE dressing room could not be satisfied with Dominik who had such a high profile on his debut:
Our locker room back in the day would not have been happy with something like that. Like, every time an untrained professional came, the person was not, did you know, like a vet, he would come into the closet, they are part of the show, just the natural instinct of the locker room to sort of hope the man does it bad, right? Well, everyone loves Rey Mysterio. But his boy is shot in a very big place and he has not had a game yet. I’m wondering what the dressing room is … You know, especially the environment they have at the moment, I’m just wondering if this is as literal as placing him, but by not making his own choice, and puts him in a very bad place to start his career here.
Despite what Disco Inferno said, Dominik is not untrained, as pointed out by Konan later in the podcast.
Disco Inferno thinks some superstars in WWE’s locker room may not be happy with Dominik’s push
Disco Inferno went on to discuss what an experienced veteran (he took the example of Kevin Owens) in the WWE locker room might feel about Dominik’s massive push this soon in his WWE career. Disco admitted that it was not Dominik’s fault that he was in this position:
Think of a man like Kevin Owens who took 15 years to get on the main stage. I wonder what a man like him thinks of putting Dominik in his place if they do not do much with him, you know? No, it’s just Dominik’s fault. I’m just saying he’s in a position and it’s a very, very sh **** position. You put a lot of pressure on yourself, your father is a legend, everyone loves Rey Mysterio, but in the back of these people they say, “Why is this child being driven?” And it’s not his fault.
Dominik was recently destroyed by Seth Rollins with a kendo stick on WWE RAW ahead of her showdown at WWE SummerSlam.
