Dirty Projectors have announced another new EP. Super João is the third installment of a five-EP cycle arriving in mid-2020. Super João is available September 4 via Domino. Watch the lead single “Holy Mackerel,” along with the accompanying music video below.
The Bossa Nova – influenced Super João was immediately recorded on tape in Los Angeles with Kyle Thomas (aka King Tuff). The record was written, produced and performed by Dirty Projectors leader Dave Longstreth, who collaborated on lyrics with Kyle Field of Little Wings.
In addition to the new EP, Dirty Projectors have announced that their five EP sequences will be released in one continuous 20-track Anthology titled 5EPs. The collection will land on November 13 via Domino. The last EP from Dirty Projectors was in the series Flight Tower, who was assisted by singer Felicia Douglass.
