EXCLUSIVE: A week after production and there has been great blood behind the scenes on the sequel to Legendary Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Directors Andy and Ryan Tohill have released a film that was in production in Bulgaria for a week about some creative differences. Pic takes off where the Tobe Hooper-directed original from 1974 left.
The film closes this week and Legendary has cast as the new director David Blue Garcia, an Emmy-winning director-filmmaker whose feature debut was budgeted at $ 58,000 Tejano, which premiered at the Dallas International Film Festival before appearing on HBO in January. He has also shot ads and branded content for Verizon, Lenovo, Fisher Price, T-Mobile and Firestone and is represented by Verve and Inclusion Management.

The film goes back to the roots of the creator Hooper and Kim Henkel who was considered one of the scariest films of their era, even though most of the splatter was implied and not shown. Today’s film brings Leatherface back to horrible life for a new generation.
While the film is shooting in Bulgaria, the new director comes from Texas, who was horribly put on the map by the original film.
De Evil Dead en Do not breathe director Alvarez produces with Rodolfo Sayagues of Bad Hombre. Kim Henkel, Ian Henkel and Pat Cassidy produce through their Exurbia Films. The cast is led by Elsie Fisher (Eighth grade), Sarah Yarkin (Happy Death Day 2U), Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner) and Moe Dunford (Wytsingen).
