Dillian Whyte wants Alexander Povetkin to step down by the end of 2020

Following today’s shockingly devastating loss to Alexander Povetkin, Dillian Whyte seeks to enforce his contractual rematch clause, which promoter Eddie Hearn already said after post-fight, but Whyte has now confirmed backstage to today’s bolts.

Whyte (27-2, 18 KO) was one win away from a guaranteed WBC heavyweight title today in early 2021, but Povetkin (36-2-1, 25 KO) put that dream first in bed, and now 32-year-old Whyte will be looking forward to handball.

If you missed the fight, you can see the devastating knockout here.

“We will heal our wounds and we will come back, and we will move forward,” Hearn said after the attack, before Whyte appeared.

“Can we get the desatch in December?” Whyte asked, and Hearn told him it was planned.

When asked if Hearn was good, Whyte replied: ‘Yes, I’m good, it’s one of her things where it’s just landed. I mastered it, ‘which not only blushed, as he put Povetkin twice in the fourth round.

‘It’s what it is,’ Whyte told his promoter. “Rematch. It’s all good. That’s where boxing goes. ”
