Did Princess Diana blame Prince Philip for her failed marriage to Prince Charles?

Prince Charles and Princess Diana were married in 1981 and their marriage seemed doomed from the start considering how little they knew of each other before Charles proposed. The couple only met a dozen times when the future king asked the question, which is something he did at the behest of his father, Prince Philip.

Many royal observers have concluded that Charles blamed Philip for forcing him to propose to Diana by telling him that his only two options were to do that or to break up with her. But what about Diana? Did she also blame Prince Philip for their unhappy marriage?

RSVP Live reported that Philip was also candid with her and expressed what he really thought about her son’s actions, telling Diana that she was surprised when she found out that Charles wanted to leave her for Camilla.

“Charles was foolish to risk everything with Camilla for a man in his position,” he allegedly wrote in a letter. “We never dreamed that I might want to leave you for her. I can’t imagine someone in their right mind leaving you for Camilla. Such a prospect never reached our heads. ”
