DHSS announced 32 new cases of COVID-19 in Alaska; 27 residents


ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The state of Alaska has announced 27 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Alaska among residents. Five other new cases reported are from non-residents.

No new deaths have been reported. To date, 16 Alaska residents have died with COVID-19 since March.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 1,138. Currently, there are 574 active cases and 548 recovered cases. There are 72 total hospitalizations.

27 are residents in 4 communities:
Anchor (22)
Fairbanks (2)
Palmer (1)
Seward (2)

Five new cases of non-residents were also identified:
Fairbanks North Star Borough: 1 other industry
Valdez-Cordova Census Area: 1 Other Industry
Bristol Bay and Lake & Peninsula Boroughs: 1 fishing industry
Anchorage Township: 1 visitor
Municipality of Petersburg: 1 fishing industry

The total number of non-resident cases is now 235.

Of Alaska’s 27 cases, 12 are men and 15 are women. Three are under the age of 10; one is between 10 and 19 years old; eight are between 20 and 29 years old; four are between 30 and 39 years old; five are between 40 and 49 years old; five are between 60 and 69 years old and one between 70 and 79 years old.

The recovered cases now total 548, with four new recovered cases registered yesterday. A total of 123,753 tests have been carried out. The average percentage of daily positive tests for the previous three days is 1.26%.
