“So eight years of recovery, I haven’t done a single suspicious thing. There’s nothing gray,” Shepard, 45, explains, before things start to go wrong. “In 2012, my father died. He was diagnosed with cancer in August and then died on December 31. I was going back. [to the hospital] Stop not treating him at all and take him to get chemo and handle his hospital stuff. “
Shepard said he then had a motorcycle accident while walking on the set of “Parenthood.”
“I immediately called my sponsor and I said, ‘I’m in a ton of pain and I’ve had to work all day, and we have friends who have vicodin,'” Shepard recalled. “And he said, ‘Well, you can take a couple of vicodins to spend the day at work, but you have to go to the doctor, and you have to take a prescription and you have to make Kristen.’ [Bell] Prescription Doll.
The “Parenthood” star said he followed his sponsor’s advice by getting a prescription and giving it to his wife, Kristen Bell. Shepard said there was “no problem” until he went to visit his dad. Since Bell was not going on the trip, Shepard did not bring painkillers, thinking it was “worth going without.”
Then “CIPS.” The actor was tasked with spending time with his father, who was in poor health, and making sure his dad took a percussion.

“So I give him a bunch of percosets and then I go, ‘I have a prescription for this, and I was in a motorcycle accident, and I’ll take a little too,'” Shepard explained, “he took my other prescription which was Twice that. “
“My dad and I sat in his living room and looked out over the lake,” he said. “We had a lot of normality and very little friction but one thing we usually got was that we were king-addicted. And we never used anything together. We threw stones there.”
The next day, Shepard said he was “a little nervous” because he was worried if it meant he was back. After visiting his dad at the hospital, he got a call from Bell, who flew in to surprise him. At the time, the “The Good Place” actress, 40, was seven months pregnant with her and Shepard’s first child, Delta.
“On the ride from the Spittle home, I started crying and I would say ‘I’m back,'” Shepard recalled. “It’s like, ‘You obviously need to call someone in AA, but I’d say you’re fed up with this accident, you’ve gotten high with your dad, keep it up. No need to define. You didn’t lose eight years, ‘which was very comfortable.’
Shepard said looking back at the moment. “So it was eight years ago. And now I have this experience where I did it, I felt bad, but it didn’t really work.”

“Then I get hurt again,” he continued. “Maybe I don’t want to take them at night because I can’t sleep when I take them, so when I get my two at night I don’t really eat it and keep it tomorrow morning so I can make it. The dose I want. I want to do that. That cycle probably happens three or four more times. “
“I look skeptical, but I don’t think that’s a problem,” Shepard admitted. “I didn’t have much desire when the talk was over.”
However, Shepard said there were “a ton of injuries” earlier this year and seven surgeries were performed following a motorcycle accident that left him with many broken bones.
“After I ride the track sometimes I feel like I’m entitled to two vicodins at the end of the day because I’m in pain.” “It doesn’t look that crazy again and then this finally goes around by hand and then the shoulder started like six months ago. I’m more shadowy and shade.”
Then the “The Ranch” star announced “for the last eight weeks” he “stayed” on them all day.

“On some doses I’m allowed to stay on them – because I have a prescription – but then I’m also increasing it. And then all the prescriptions run out.”
When Shepard said it was “beautiful management” before, it took him eight 30s a day, and I know this is the amount that would result in very bad withdrawals. And I’m starting to get really scared, and I’m really starting to feel lonely. And I have this enormous secret. “
After slowly failing to release the painkillers themselves, Shepard revealed to his friends and family that he had stopped again and asked them for help.
“For the first time in a long time, [I] “He felt optimistic,” he said on the episode, which was recorded on Monday, Sept. 21, and he marked a day as he took opiates.
On Friday, Shepard took to Instagram to announce a podcast episode called “7 Days” and told his followers he had been healthy for 11 days.
“One episode I hope I never need to record, but one feels like I’m tired of all the beautiful armchairs that have come with me over the last few years.” “It was Monday. Say it’s 11 today.”
