Detroit Lions Week 2 Injury Report: Kenny Golade, Desmond Truffaut, JD Dahl Out vs Packers

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Goulade will miss his second straight game, as the team has listed Pro Bowler as out in the final injury report of the week. Joining him this week is Cornerback Desmond Truffonte, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Bears, and JD Dahl, who suffered a groin injury during this week’s practice.

He makes three starts that will miss this Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers – and potentially more. Backup Cornwack K Daryl Roberts has a calf injury and is listed as a suspect.

The good news is, third overall pick Jeff Okudah is about to start the first NFL of his career. Rookie Cornwack is back in full practice on Friday and was not given an injury designation. Based on Roberts’ availability, Okudah is expected to start with Amani Oruvari. Nickel Cornwack on IR will play in the slot with either Justin Coleman, Roberts or Tony McRae.

There will also be a challenge for the Lions on the offensive line. With Halapaulivati Vaitai listed as a question mark on Sunday (he did not practice again on Friday), backup Tyrell Crosby is set to make his second consecutive start. It is unclear who will take Dahl on the left guard, but P te Ode Aboussi is a potential candidate or fraudulent Logan Steinberg. The Lions will also be able to bring Kenny Wiggins out of the practice squad, as they did last week.

And while Hunter Bryant is listed on Sunday, it’s worth noting that he returned to study in limited fashion for the first time since his hamstring injury at the start of training camp.
